Dr. Kayla Gaddis, O.D.

Dr. Kayla Gaddis graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Genetics. While at A&M, Dr. Gaddis held several leadership positions in organizations such as: the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Golden Key International Honor Society, Lambda Sigma Honor Society, and the Tau Kappa Junior Honors Society. In her spare time, Dr. Gaddis volunteered, was a member of the Bioethics Forum Committee and secretary of the Aggie Optometry Association.

After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Gaddis attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007. During that time, Dr. Gaddis lead a clinical trial evaluating the effects of various contact lens and solution combinations in relation to corneal staining and completed an article for publication focused on corneal scarring secondary to bullous pemphigoid. Additionally, she completed intense training at several practices in the DFW area while fulfilling her externship requirements. These sites enabled her to gain the valuable knowledge and skill sets imperative to the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ocular disease processes.

Upon receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Gaddis entered practice with Alexandria Eye and Laser Center in rural Leesville, Louisiana. During her time in Louisiana, Dr. Gaddis built connections with the community volunteering her services to provide vision screenings throughout the community and surrounding areas. In addition to her community involvement practicing in a rural area lead her to becoming a well rounded eye provider managing many different eye conditions, surgical pre and post ops, and working with all ages in routine eye exam.

Gaddis FamilyIn 2012, Dr. Gaddis moved with her family back to her native area of North Texas to open her own practice, Blink Eyecare. A leader in her field, Dr. Gaddis is a board certified licensed optometrist in both Louisiana and Texas; specializing in the management of cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and common ocular conditions such as: corneal foreign bodies, dry eye, eye infections, glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. Dr. Gaddis is affiliated with the Texas Optometric Association, Louisiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, in addition to serving as a member Young Professionals society. In her free time, Dr. Gaddis enjoys time with her husband and two children, exercising, traveling as a family and volunteering her service.
