Dr. Kayla Gaddis, OD
Dr. Kayla Gaddis graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University before earning her doctorate from the University of Houston. While in school she was awarded a number of honors including those for Golden Key, Lambda Sigma, and Tau Kappa honors societies. During optometry school, she led a clinical trial and completed intense training in all aspects of vision and ocular disease.
After school Dr. Gaddis practiced in Louisiana in a high volume medial practice before returning to her native Texas to found her own independent clinic, Blink Eyecare. Over the years Dr. Gaddis’ hard work and dedication to her patients’ care has lead to the practice growing into one of the most highly rated practices in this part of the country and routinely wins awards for “Best Optometrist” in the area. She is passionate about combining best medical practices with best patient experiences!
Continuing her work in the field and in her community, Dr. Gaddis is frequently asked to speak at engagements and conferences as an authority on cutting edge dry eye care and on leadership. Due to advanced capability and training, she has also been part of several pilot programs to bring cutting edge contacts to patients even before they are widely available. She is passionate about being an active member of the community and uses her spare time to support and volunteer for several local charities.
Dr. Gaddis is a member of the National Glaucoma Society, the American Optometric Association, and the Texas Optometric Association.
In her spare time she loves traveling with her husband and two children, exercising, and being gracious in winning the A&M vs LSU debate with her husband.
Dr. Andrew Kryder, O.D.
Dr. Andrew Kryder grew up in Dallas where he attended St. Mark’s School of Texas before graduating from Hendrix College. After completing his undergraduate degree, Dr. Kryder earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio Texas. While in optometry school, he became a multi-published author for a series of research projects and conducted extensive community outreach programs providing eyecare to those in need. He was also an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists and completed extensive training through externships focusing on pediatrics, surgical co-management, and disease specialties at sites around San Antonio and in Florida.
Finding a passion for advanced disease care, Dr. Kryder chose to pursue further training and certification by completing an additional residency with Nova Southeastern University and the Department of Veterans affairs. During this time he set several performance records for the residency program, received multiple awards for service above and beyond the call of duty, and further completed training and certification through the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center.
After serving in the VA, Dr. Kryder moved back to his native North Texas and joined the Blink Eyecare team. With his advanced training and experience, Dr. Kryder specializes in the management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, and advanced disease cases. He has extensive experience treating eye conditions such as foreign bodies, infections, and all forms of vision correction. Dr. Kryder is a member of the National Glaucoma Society, the American Optometric Association, and the Texas Optometric Association.
Dr. Kryder spends his free time with his wife and daughter who lovingly tolerate his “dad jokes” and enjoy spending time outdoors, volunteering, and with their dogs.
Dr. Brittany Martin, OD
Born and raised in New Orleans, Dr. Brittany Martin has southern hospitality, kindness, and a fun-loving demeanor at her core. Dr. Martin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette before earning her doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Throughout her years in optometry school, she received many accolades including clinical excellence awards and academic scholarships.
Dr. Martin completed further clinical training at a Dallas community clinic and a medical-based practice in San Antonio. This is where she grew a passion for treating and managing ocular pathology and conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. She was a volunteer on a mission trip to Guerrero, Mexico where she performed hundreds of eye exams and assisted in surgeries for the community. Dr. Martin plans to return to volunteer at the Guerrero clinic throughout her career.
After graduation, Dr. Martin decided to stay in Texas and move to Dallas. Before beginning her practice at Blink Eyecare, she spent the first few years of her career in private practice and providing relief work throughout the DFW area. Dr. Martin currently holds membership in Texas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, Northeast Texas Optometric Society, and The National Glaucoma Society.
In her spare time Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with her husband and her two recuse dogs, Pearl and Ruth. She loves traveling, antiquing, reading, watching football (Go Saints!), and spending time with family.
While under Dr. Martin’s care, you will be met with compassion, kindness, and a passion for finding a solution to any of your needs and concerns. Dr. Martin is excited to meet you and your family and to have each patient on their way to happy and healthy eyes.
